God School: Finding The Missing Piece

One “Life Lesson” I learned in God School classroom. It was one morning watching a man put a 1,000-piece puzzle together. He was incredible. He could put a puzzle together in a few hours. On this morning, I watched from a distance as he looked at the picture on the box cover… then looked down at the puzzle pieces, grabbed one and placed it on the board. He repeated this process over and over until it was complete. Oh, this man, this professor of life, was an autistic man in our program. God used a unique man to teach me a “Life Lesson” that I would refer to repeatedly through the years.

This morning over breakfast with a dear friend, God returned to this lesson. My friend shared with me one of life’s problems. As he shared, I prayed for wisdom.

I shared with him how God used His Word when I experienced cancer. It’s the story of when Jesus walked on the water when the Disciples were in a terrible storm. Fearfully the Disciples cried out in fear. “But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 22:26-31)

Life Lesson: The Storm…the problem was real. He took his eyes off the Authority over all storms & problems. God answered my prayer when I experienced cancer. I cried out, “Jesus, I’m going to keep my eyes on you No-Matter-What! Give me the wisdom…the power & strength…” And He held my hand and never let go.

I shared this life lesson with my friend. His storm is real, but the solution is bigger than his storm. Jesus is “The Solution.” Look for Him. Jesus told us in Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

It is only through Him we can have confidence, peace & joy in the storms of life. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Only Jesus has the power & authority to make this promise come true. “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28

Do you believe Him? Do you trust Him?
