You get up early to walk along the beach. It’s just you and your thoughts. The crashing of the waves, sand between your toes, sea birds searching for breakfast and the beautiful sunrise all stir your heart. Up ahead you see something sparkling on the shore. As you get closer you recognize it’s a bottle…a bottle with a message. You quickly pick it up and examine the bottle. You wonder, “what is the message?”… “who wrote the message?”… “when & how far did the bottle travel?”

Taking the cork out you begin shaking and trying to get the message out. Because you are consumed to get to the message out you forget your problems… the reason you took this walk along the beach. You find a stick and carefully pull the message out of the bottle.

“Follow Me” Jesus

That’s it! Two words that have changed lives…changed destinies. That’s all Jesus said to His Disciples, “Follow Me.”  For them, like all His Followers, this is all we need.

Note: They didn’t ask worldly questions of where, how, when… they just dropped their worldly ways and followed Jesus in faith.

Maybe this is you; walking along the beach of life…ponding. “Is this all there is?” Or maybe you’ve had enough of being alone with your problems.

Jesus said:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20

Make this a New Year… a New Way. Come, Follow Him.
