It Was Juicy…

Yesterday Mary & I enjoyed a delicious & juicy steak at Longhorn Steak House. Halfway through our meal Mary smiled and said, “You’ve got it on you.” Yes, I wear my food well. As we were leaving, I told the manager, “this is evidence that your steaks are good and Juicy.”

So, today, the day after Easter, Redemption Sunday, will people recognize where you were yesterday? Will people recognize calmness in you when things don’t go as planned? Will you encourage people? Will people sense that you have something in your life they need?

God gave us a word picture of what being with Him looks like in Exodus 34:29. “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.” So, today and the days, weeks and months following Redemption Sunday, how will you look? Will you reflect the love of Jesus?

Redemption Sunday cost God everything. We know He, God, intentionally paid this price from John 3:16-21, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

One of the unique things I have learned from Bible study is that I am an Ambassador, a Representative of Jesus. Therefore, I am called to conduct myself in a way that pleases Him. How we conduct ourselves is what I call God School Lab Sessions.

Several years ago, I was lying in the ER with a broken femur. As Pastor Randy was preparing to leave, he prayed this special prayer that changed my prayer life from that point on. He prayed, “That people will see Jesus through Robert’s experience.” God honored his prayer. While I was in therapy God orchestrated countless one-on-one conversations with people about Jesus. My favorite was with the therapist assigned to teach me to walk. One of the first things she said to me was, “I’m an atheist.” I replied, “Fine.” I recognized God’s fingerprints right then. Over the next two weeks she was stuck to my side, holding me up as I had the opportunity to tell her about my friend, Jesus. Only God does stuff like this. I am forever Blessed by Pastor Randy’s prayer that changed my focus. Whether good times or bad, I have been called to represent the King of Kings.

Father may my friends that read this post receive the glow that You gave Moses…the glow that draws people to Your Redemptive Love, in Jesus’ Name.
