How Secure Are You?

The past few years have been unsettling. Businesses that we grew up with no longer exist. Government agencies, leaders and even some churches have experienced integrity failures. What we once thought was mighty are not. We have witnessed the anxiety of knowing anything can happen.

COVID gave us a glimpse into how life can change suddenly. During COVID businesses & organizations shut down. The streets & store shelves were bare. The “To-Do” list was thrown in the trash. For a brief time, people discovered they had time…time to be at home with their family. Life’s “treadmill” got unplugged.

Little by little we have found a way to plug-in Life’s “treadmill.” But this time there is a gnawing awareness, “This could happen again and even worse.” What will you do? This week in our Bible Study Fellowship study of Revelation one of the discussion questions was, “What assurance do you have that God has sealed you in salvation and chosen you to belong to Him?” Take some time and ponder this significant question. Where will you go to get the answer that will hold up under any Life-Storm? What will give you the “No-Matter-What confidence?

Time has taught us that man’s opinions are like the grass God spoke through Isaiah in, Isaiah 40:8. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever.”

Here are a few Life-Anchors from God’s Word:

Exodus 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Psalm 34:17 “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.”

Romans 10:9–10 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Philippians 4:6–7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Matthew 6:31–33 “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

John 10:28 “I (Jesus) give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Matthew 28:20 “And surely I (Jesus) am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

May His Word bring you Hope, Strength and Peace. ‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”’ Numbers 6:24-26
