“What’s Your Problem?” – It’s Just Not Complicated

Friday night dances at the Center were always great but this one night would be special, a live band. The band was a Country-Gospel group that had performed several times at the senior apartments & the Center. The group loved our people, and our people loved them. On this night they allowed our clients to come on stage and sing. For our folks, it was their time to shine…to be like the celebrities on TV…to be a star. And star they did. When “D” grabbed the mic, I think everyone in Heaven stopped to listen. I had known D for 7 or 8 years and yet could barely understand her when she talked, but when sang, “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so”, every word was clear and from her heart. She didn’t know deep theology, she had not read any of the latest authors, no in fact she couldn’t read…but she knew Jesus. She and so many of these Professors of Love, knew Jesus in a very deep & trusting way. They had the Joy of Jesus.

D had lasting joy in her life…she had Jesus. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Do You? D got it because, “For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:10. Jesus told us in Luke 18:17 “I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

Isn’t time you found what D had? Jesus tells us in Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Isn’t time you found your Everlasting-Joy?
