“Train? I Didn’t Hear the Train!”

We are creatures of habit. We become so familiar with the things around us that we stop noticing them. Think about this. How much time did you spend hanging the perfect picture in a special place? Then, when was the last time you noticed it? For 40 years we have lived a block away from a train track. After a few years we became accustomed to the train noise and seldom heard the sound. This is called Habituation. “A simple definition of habituation is getting so used to something in your environment (like a noise) that you stop noticing it. Habituation is a decrease in response to a stimulus after repeated presentations.” Google.

I believe as Christians we are experiencing “Habituation” of God’s Word. We have become accustomed to the noise of today’s culture. We can sleep as the train of “wokeness” is rolling through our family, church & life. Like not hearing the train horn & the railroad crossing guards…we are not heeding the warnings in God’s Word which will result in tragic results.

God speaks to us very seriously in the Old & New Testament. “Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.” Deuteronomy 4:39 Then in Revelation 3:15-16, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

It begins with stopping the things that break our Father’s heart and asking Him for forgiveness. Starting each day with a Grateful Heart. I have never known a complaining person that had a grateful heart. Daily Bible study and asking God to, “Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.” Psalm 25:4-5. Simply put it is putting God first in your life, “No-Matter-What.”

This is so very true. We have become so accustomed to the evil & sins of this current generation, I fear we are becoming complacent rather than getting angry at Satan and His ways and driven to fight for our nation and our children’s future. We are in the final stages of a battle! God has equipped us with the weapon of His Word and the armor of His Spirit. It is up to us to take up His armor and the Sword of His Truths and stand up & fight! God help us! Give us the courage to fight!

I really can relate to this. I grew up with the train track literally in my front yard. We knew exactly when it was going to come by but we did not pay any attention to it.
While we were young we used to go and way at the engineer or conductor and it was fun when they waved back and blew their horn.
But you are right there were so many times the train went by and we never paid any attention to it. So sad that is how our churches are treating Christ. Taking his passing by for granted and not focusing on Him.
    Thanks for the word.
