As with any young lad, I had questions. But the response I really didn’t like was, “Go look it up.” First, I found libraries too warm and stuffy. They put me to sleep. Second, the Dewey Decimal System was too much like a jigsaw puzzle, I just wanted an answer with the least amount of time & effort. And third, I’m dyslexic so I transpose characters, and I spell words differently than most people. For instance, I spell “ruff & tuff” the way they should be spelled not the convoluted way found in dictionaries. So, being told to go “look it up” I equated to, “Robert, go climb a mountain.”
Where do you go to find your answers? Answers to the questions we face each day. You know, what’s right & wrong? Do you follow the opinions of the dominant culture that tell us that right is now wrong and what is wrong is now right? Maybe you go to social media or ask a friend to find an answer. Where can truth be found?
Truth…truth that has not changed in thousands of years can only be found in God’s Word. But don’t take my word for it. Take the word of someone who staked his life on the truth of God’s Word. You remember Daniel, the young man who interpreted dreams for the evil King Nebuchadnezzar and King Darius. It’s the same young man who was thrown into the lion’s den for not bowing & praying to the king. Where did Daniel get the answers to face the impossible? Where did Daniel get the strength to remain loyal to God? The answer is found in God’s Word. “Daniel, learned from reading the Word of the Lord” Daniel 9:1
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.”
Psalm 119:60 “I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
Isn’t it time you found Peace, Joy, and Hope? There is only one source for Peace, Joy, and Hope in the worst storms of life. It begins with “Be still, and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10. Get your Bible and find a quiet place. Now talk to God. He is there with you. And get this…He already knows everything. He knows what you need. So, ask Him to guide you through His Love Letter.
God Bless you, my friend. Enjoy the journey of discovering the incredible treasures found in His Word… they will change your life.
