Law of the Farm: It’s A Process

One of the unforgiving facts of the farm is…it cannot be hurried. A farmer cannot fly out of bed with his hair-on-fire, run out to the field, jam seeds in the ground, and expect a harvest the next day. You can stand over the planted seed screaming & yelling about your desperate situation, but the seed does not hear, nor care. Farming, like life, is a process…and processes take TIME.

Soybeans require 3-5+ days to bust through the ground… a 100+ day process, as seen in the picture (Google), before they are ready to harvest. Each stage is significant and cannot be skipped. It’s the Law of the Farm.

God illustrates this law beginning in Genesis with the 6 days of creation. God could have instantly created it all at one time, but He chose a process. God spoke to us through Soloman in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…”

God uses many illustrations of His time-process in His love letter, the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, we discover ordinary people (Abraham, Moses, David, Peter, and Paul, to name a few) who God developed, corrected, and redeemed through His process. Each person had a choice. And each choice took time. When they made bad choices, which they all made, there were painful consequences. But God is the God of 2nd chances. Each one of these people desired a relationship with Him. They wanted to “just” be with the Father. To be in His Presence (Psalm 16:11). Each one gave up their self-centeredness (their “my time”) to draw closer to Him (James 4:8).

Jesus gave us clarity of how everyone, no matter what you have done, can draw closer to Him (Luke 23:43). In John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

So, what will you do with your 1440? God gives us 1440 minutes each day to do as we please. The question is who do you want to please? Like the soybean plant that turns its leaves to the sun to grow and develop, we have the choice of turning our lives toward the Son and draw closer to Him. Like the soybean plant that requires time in the sun to remain healthy and grow, we need time in the Son, in His Word to remain Spiritually healthy.

“Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.” Proverbs 20:4

Time Choices = Eternity.

“Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to Him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” Revelation 14:15

I got behind reading these while I was in Canada and then delayed coming home. I have tried to catch up but didn’t reply back to you each time. These are always so anointed. I enjoy every one of them. Keep up the good work!
