I remember those early mornings driving to the farm as the sun was coming up. I was groggy from little sleep, as we pulled into the shop to prepare for a day of planting. There was a ritual every man did before going to the field. All the discs, planters, and tractors had to be greased & fueled. The seed & fertilizer loaded, make sure you had the right tools and water to drink because once we went to the field there was only one focus…planting the seed within a narrow window of time.
So, how prepared are you for the field today?
- Did you grease your heart with His Word, “Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!” Deuteronomy 5:29
- Did you refuel your spirit? “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…” Acts 1:8
- Did you load the seed & fertilizer? “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
- Have you got water for the day? “…but whoever drinks the water I (Jesus) give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14
