Today is the first Monday of 2025. It could be just like any ordinary Monday…you know, packed with the “Must Do” for the day. But take a moment to consider the simple fact of one basic scientific fact. I asked this opened-ended question in a Google search, “Are there any elements found in the body of animals & plants not found in the soil?” Get ready… “No, there are no elements found in the bodies of animals and plants that are not also found in the soil; all the elements present in living organisms, like carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur, can be found in the soil, even if their specific compounds might differ in different forms of life and soil types.” Google
Class let’s open our textbook (the Bible) to Genesis 2:5-7 “Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” There’s more from verses 19 and 20, “Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.”
So, when you think about it…the dirt, the plants and the animals are all made of the same material but only God can arrange them is such a way that they appear unique & different. Here’s another mind-blowing thought…They all need each other.
So today…before you become overwhelmed with what the world throws at you take a moment and say “Thank You” to the One who created & keeps the miracle of life going each and every day. Don’t you think if the One who took the same materials and arranged them differently to create plants & animals can arrange your life to produce something as beautiful as a bountiful harvest or a baby in her mother’s arms?
He, Jesus would love to transform your “mess” into a life of beauty. It begins with, “Be still, and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10. Jesus gives us this Promise, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10. This new life begins with your “Transforming” choice found in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Then the transformation of…”Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-21
Now that changes everything!
Interesting science lesson. Never thought of that before. Just proves God is Sovereign.
