Glasses & Hearing Aids Go On Before I Get Up

I have been wearing glasses since I was in the 5th grade, about 65 years. I have been wearing hearing aids for over 12 years. Both “helpers” enable me to see & hear the beautiful things I would otherwise miss. They are the first & last part of my day. I am Blessed to have them.

In the Spiritual realm, we need help to hear His whispers, to understand the Bible, to see people as God sees people…to draw close to the Father. Jesus knew this when He said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26.

And, “…the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17.

Today the world mocks the Bible, Believers & His Ways. Why? Because the world does not have the Holy Spirit. Jesus quoted the Prophet Isaiah to tell us why the “world” does not understand God. “In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.” Matthew 13:14-16.

For Believers, allowing the Holy Spirit to aid their sight & hearing is essential. Without the Holy Spirit the Bible is just a good book…but when I allow the Holy Spirit to show & teach me, the Bible becomes the Living Word. It is always fresh and uniquely speaks to what I need. Only God, the author of His Holy Book, has this power.

Are you using all God has promised & provided? Have you asked Him to whisper to your heart? If not, I challenge to try this for 30 days. Each day set aside time (15-30 minutes) with Him with no interruptions. Pray Psalm 25:4,5 “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. 5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

Isn’t it time to stop leaving home blind & deaf?
