“Good morning. All over the world today…people are focused on one thing…”the virus and me”. The concerns and worries of what will happen…”

What happened all over the world during that time was historic. Everything shut down! People went from “Busy & Overwhelmed” to sitting at home in fear. The To-Do list no longer mattered. Instead of going to our knees in prayer we went to the TV & social media to learn what we should do. Instead of having confidence in the Lord we found anxiety & fear from man’s inability to fix a world-wide storm.

In short, we lived out what Peter did in Matthew 14:22-33. There they were, the Disciples alone in a boat on the Sea of Galilee in a terrible storm. Jesus walked by on the water and said, “Come.” Peter gets out of the boat and is walking on water looking at Jesus…but then something happened. ”But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Peter took his eyes off of Jesus to look at the storm. Peter had been looking at “The” Authority over life & death when he was distracted to look at the storm, over which he had no authority. Hundreds of years before this the same God School lesson was taught to King Jehoshaphat. With an overwhelming enemy about to overrun the nation of Judah, the king stood before his people and prayed, “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 God honored the kings prayer in a very unique way. Check out 2 Chronicles 20

Storms are a reality of life for Believers & Non-Believers. So where do you place your hope, your security…your confidence? Claim the power of Psalm 71:5, “For You have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.” This Power, the unrelenting focus on God will then enable you to live out James 1:2-8 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”

Having a relationship with Jesus is the Joy of knowing He is in control & how it ends. Psalm 65:8 “The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of Joy.” Jesus has given His Believers the victory. Victors have Joy & Confidence. Now is the time to live in the confidence & Joy Jesus has given us.

PS: I took this picture early one morning looking across the Sea of Galilee.
