I have described my dad as a man who could make a stick grow. A few years after his heart attack, resulting in retiring from rice farming, he decided to raise a “few” tomatoes. 15 acres of tomatoes. The same Principles of the Farm apply to  tomato plants yet tomatoes are special. One special thing is, during the growth stage the plant will produce extra vine shoots between the stalk and the branch called the “sucker”. The sucker looks great but it will not produce fruit. In fact, it will rob the plant of the precious nutrients needed to produce delicious fruit…the tomato for your BLT.

This was the very Farm Principle Jesus was referring to in John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

As a Believer, the question each of us must ask in our conversation with Him, “where are the “suckers” in my life that keep me from producing Your precious fruit?”
